Assalamualaikum Imam Sahab. I have following few questions on my mind 1)I want to ask whether females can do Isale Sawab while they are on their monthly cycle 2)I also awnted to ask that if a Muslim promises to ALLAH that on a particular day each week he or she will do Isale Sawab(since that person wasnt regular with it and wanted to inculcate it in his daily life),then suppose he misses out a day,is there any kaffara for it? 3)Also is it necessary to make the intention of Isale Sawab like if i read DURUD SHAREEF and do other zikr while doing household work and on a particualr day i do Isale Sawab saying that whatever iv read this week(Durud Shareef, zikr etcc-the Isale Sawab be sent upon..)without actually having the intention of sending that Durud or Zikr while reciting it. 4)If a women has started some wazeefa having Quranic ayat/ayats then is she allowed to continue while she is on her monthly cycle?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Jazak'allah for trusting upon me your questions and concerns. [1] Ithaal-e-thawab means to transfer or convey rewards to a person or personality who has passed away. In simple terms it is to say - 'Oh Allah! I have committed this deed, or made this recitation, please convey the reward of it to so and so, and so and so ... so it becomes permissible.' The question you have asked is a clever one, because since the conveying of the reward is the du'a, and not the number of Qur'ans' read, fateha recited, the qul's recited, but even the intention in your heart to make a conveyance or a transfer of reward which you may have recited, or done before you were on your cycle, then it is still permissible. The actual difference is, is whether you are alone with an intention or in a group, praying Qur'an in a group (at which stage it is not permissible), or in a Jalsa (religious gathering), it all has different applications. I have therefore answered you, according to the specific question you have asked. For a more detailed account of when you are not allowed to recite the Qur'an, and the methods in which you can, please refer to the Archive under the heading ''fatwa raheemiya'' ! [2] There is no kaffara for a nafil act such as Ithaal-e-Thawab, although you must do tawba and astaghfar for not fulfilling your promise with Allah the Almighty. [3] This is another good question. No, it is not necessary that when you do your dhikr, that you have the intention of ithaal-e-thawab, yet afterwards you do convey the reward of what you have recited for ithaal-e-thawab. [4] Qur'anic verses cannot be recited either 'off by heart' or by 'looking in' ... once she is on her monthly cycle. She can however break verses down and do ' ijjay' as though she is teaching a child. For full account please refer to the above mentioned archive. This applies even if the waza'if have Qur'anic verses in them. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
