Assalamualaykum
i was just wondering is it permissible to dye your hair if your husband doesn't mind. i would like to know because I'm not sure if wudu would be accepted or not. I've never dyed my hair but this is quite interesting to me and my friends so your help in the matter is highly appreciated.
Jazakallah Khair

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam It is best to dye the hair with henna (mehndi), which comes in different colours, and also not to leave it on for so long which will make the colour effect darker, rather than lighter, as well as it being a sunnah of the Beloved Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. There is a difference between the scholars, but not a great one in the claim for using hair dye. Some say that it is forbidden to use black hair dye, as opposed to dark brown, but others say that dark brown is permissable. This applies to men, who in cases of jihad, whether it be through the holy war, through practice of knowledge and in the defence of the beliefs of Islam, or whether for the sake of keeping the wife pleased (by not showing any white hair, facial, or on the head), is said to be permissable. But the application in the first paragraph is the likely one which is applicable in this instance. The reason for the above statement, is that it is a common practice amongst girls in our culture to dye their hair, and to dye it for the wrong reason. This leads to them showing their hair and attracting the opposite sex, and by leaving their hair open. This is a sin, and should be steered away from. This action of theirs will be asked about from them on the Day of Judgement, and I fear that you should fall into that category of women, since you do have some element of truth in you. May Allah the Almighty keep all our intentions clear, in whatever action we take, and may He make it beneficial for us in this world, and the hereafter. (Amin). Jazak'allah for your question.
