Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa SallamJazak'allah for your valued question. In the
hadith of the Beloved Messnger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, it states that after
salah, the Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam would recite the following
du'a:
'Allahumma antas salamu wa minkas salamu wa ilayka yarji'us salam, tabarakta ya dhal jalali wal ikram'
Some people make the additions of:
'hayyina rabbana bissalami'
and:
'wa adkhilna daras salam'
They are all fine according to their meaning, as is reciting
darood shareef at the beginning and at the end of a
du'a, however the
du'a is regarded as the essence of worship. But sonme people will only stick to the
sunnah, of not making any additions to it, and reciting what
du'a is recorded in the hadith books alone.
This
du'a is recited at the end of
fard prayer, yet after the
sunnah's and
nafil's one is allowed to recite any
du'a which he knows, and ask from Allah the Almighty in his native language. Some of the
du'as are:
'Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas sami'ul'alim wa tub 'alayna innaka antat tawwabur Rahim'
'Rabbana innaka jami'un nasi li yawmil la rayba fih inallaha la yukhliful mi'ad''Allahumma innaka afuwun tuhibbu afwa fa'fu anna'
and:
'Allahumma la mani'a lima a'tayta wa la mu'ti lima mana'ta wa la yanfa'ukal jaddi minkal jadd'
Thus all the
du'as that appear in the Qur'an al kareem and the
hadiths, may be recited, and are usually recited, and they can be recited in any order. Some people say that to make
du'a in your native language is more closer to acceptance, because it comes from the heart, and the heart knows what it wants. Some people say that to make
du'a in 'Arabic' is more closer to acceptance because that was the language that the Most Beloved Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam taught the Noble Companions, and the Qur'an al kareem, which has a distinct mode in itself. However, the
du'a should never be neglected, as Allah the Almighty says:
'ud'uni astajib lakum'
'Invoke on me, and I shall accept from you'
May Allah the Almighty give us all the tawfiq to supplicate, and make du'a from Allah the Almighty after every salah, and may our du'as be accepted in His presence. (Amin)Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
