How long will it take to have effect and how?

Respected imam saheb,

Asalamu alaikum

The dua in relation to Dawud aleihi salaam that inshaa allah will make hearts melt, how long will it take for the dua to have effect when recited daily (at least 100 times)?? And what will the desired effect be???

All Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam

Such du'as are only powerful when they are recited sincerely, and with the correct devotion. I hope that you are still reciting your five times salah for the sake of Allah, and not for your other intention, as this may also cause a breakdown in the effectiveness of your du'a.
