Imam sahb,
Rasoolallah (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) has said : "Those of you with the truest dreams will be those who are most truthful in speech" Sahih Muslim
I have always dismissed dreams probably because i couldnt remember any, but is there a recommended way for remembering them in future.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Wa'laykum-as-Salaam wa Rahamatullahi wa Barakaatuhu. This quote of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon Him) refers to true dreams being aatributed to all those people who always spoke the truth. We know that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon Him) was also known as the 'Sadiq', i.e. the Truthful One, and that because, the dreams that the prophets and messengers of Allah (peace be upon them) are all true, they are also referred to as the Truthful ones. When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon Him) was about to have the Qur'an revealed to Him (peace be upon Him), it started off by Him having true dreams, known as 'ar ru'yass saalih'. Meaning that everything the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon Him) had dreamed of was all in effect true. Similarly, many of the prophets (peace be upon them) also had true dreams, in which they were told to do something, for example, the dream of Hadrat Yusuf (may Allah bless Him) concerning the sun and the moon, which had prostrated to him. Hadrat Yusuf (may Allah bless him) also would interpret dreams, to the king of his time so that he could prepare himself for any famine that was due. So from this little analysis, we find that the truthful ones are those people who have true dreams, and that these dreams can be interpreted in order to ascertain meaning from them. However sometimes it maybe that the person sleeping may dream, yet not remember at all if he ever did have a dream. This is our lack of conciosness, as every sleeper dreams a dream, whether he remembers it or not. All that can be said at this stage, is that whether our dreams are good or whether they are bad, depends on how we perform in life. If our deeds are good deeds, according to the Almighty and His Messenger (peace be upon Him), then our dreams will be true, and if we have bad deeds, it may be that our dreams are bad dreams, which could in turn have the opposite meaning of what might be anticipated. May Allah help us all to lead truthful lives, and may he make this an easy way for us in this life, and in the hereafter (amin). M. Waseem Ashrafi.
