Salaam Dear imam. I hope you are well InshaAllah. A friend offered to do istikhara for me last week and i didnt prevent my friend because my friend has more knowledge then me so i presumed it was fine. Is it allowed for a friend to do istikhara for me? Anyway, the dream shows me discussing something with my parent, my parent bring up something which i dont like. I tell my parents not to bring this topic up again and i leave the room. There is also a rainbow outside at the time. Can you please tell me what this mean cause im worried it could be something bad. JazarkAllah Khair. Please remember me in your duas my dear Imam. Allah hafiz.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuPraise be to Allah who is the lord of the worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa aalihi wa Sallam)Jazak'allah for your question, and apologies for the delay it has taken in answering your question. May Allah the Almighty open all the doors of time, for us, so that we may engage in His worship. (Amin) Secondly, I would like to say that it is perfectly permissable for a person who does not have the means, or cannot perform istikhara, to tell another person to perform it for him, as the person who performs it for one shall indeed recieve the same result and reward, as that person, who asked him to perform it, in the first place. Thirdly, about your dream, which you said you had, then it has two interpretations. The first of these interpretations is that, if your parents had said something to you which was illegal ( ghayr shar'i), then you have been given the good news, that you will be successful in a certain thing, or you will do some good, as opposed to something that they said which was legal ( shar'i), but you disagreed, and walked out of the room, then you will not be successful in a certain action, deed, or the performance of a deed. The dream translates just as if you were hearing something legal, and you did not want to hear it, which enables you to gain its disadvantages, as opposed to not listening to something which was illegal, which carries its benefits. As far as the rainbow is concerned, then I have answered that question, which you may find in one of the archives, in the appropriate section. May Allah the Almighty give us all the tawfiq to listen to and act upon that which is prescribed to us, and keep away from, and not act upon those things which have not been prescribed to us.Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM.
