Assalamu 'alaykum,
Jannah is the permanent abode of the Faithful for all who died Muslim; in total obedience and submission to the will of Allah, in faith, through one's heart and deeds.
Jannah, is a very pure place, a place of nur; light, clean thoughts, clear head, clean and pure hearts. There is both physical and spiritual cleanliness. There is no such thing as sin, evil thoughts, disobedience or mention/trace of physical or spiritual impurities or diseases. Even the homes, the palaces erected for the believers will have transparent walls symbollic of absolute purity like natural water. A place where we do not age, become ill or need to undertake any form of hygiene after eating or sleeping.
The Classical and orthodox Scholars of Islam say that; In Jannah, the believers will truly recognise one another as they did in the dunya. However, their knowledge will be limited to this only. It will be relative knowledge in the mind of the believers that they know each other and have always known one another. There will be very limited or little knowledge of the Dunya.
Jannah, is the final abode of the believers in the journey of mankind. This is why it is from the Akhirah. Jannah, will be a new world for the believers like that of a child born into this world. Hence, there will be very little memory.
A more detailed answer with references will follow soon.
And, verily, the Knowledge of Allah, most Sublime and Glorious, is Most Perfect and Complete.
