Assalaam Alaikum Imam Saab, Hope you and your family are well and healthy!! Ameen.
My question is based on what should be done according to the teachings of the Qur'an al hakim and Sunnah of the prophet- What to do when a muslim dies. Basically i want to know what to perfom or do when a muslim woman dies such as tying certain parts of the body, how to perform ghusal on the females and what is the best or right way to wrap the body in the Kafan Cloth/sheets.
I tend to do a lot of study into our deen Islam, but am finding it really difficult to find the answer to these questions.
If you could please let me know or if there is such a book regarding this issue, i will be greatful. I look forward to your reply.
Allah Hafiz.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,All Praise be to Allah who is the Most Gracious, and Most Merciful, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon our Master, the Most Beloved, Last, and Final Messenger of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam)Jazak'Allah for your valued question. Although there are many books of Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), especially in Hanafi Fiqh, which outline all the details, of what should be done, when a man or woman dies, and what rites to perform, nevertheless, it would be very extensive for myself in typing everything. What I shall do first, is cast your attention to a few books, which you may be able to study or find out. If you are an Urdu reader then the following books may be of advantage: 1) Bahar-e-Shar'iyyat, by Mawlana Amjad Ali A'zami. 2) Qanun-e-Shar'iyyat, by Mawlana Shamsuddin Ahmad. 3) 'Ayn-al-Hidayah, Mawlana Muhammad Anwar ul Haqq, Qasmi. 4) Aydha hush Shukuri sharh Mukhtasar al Quduri, (Arabic and Urdu commentary), by Mufti Muhammad Shabbir Puranwi. 5) There are other extensive works in Arabic and Urdu, e.g. Hidayah, Kanz-ud-Daqa'iq, Sharah Wiqayah, Nur-al-Iydhah etc, and Urdu translations of such books may be obtained, as they are included in the syllabus, in most Madrassah's. In English, the Hidayah is widely available, in an English translation by Charles Hamilton. It is some time, since I last saw the very first edition, although, it is possible that it may now have further editions. A personal preference, and an easy read was by the Shair-e-Rabbani Islamic Centre, in Manchester, which contained all the funeral prayers and actions linked to them, it is called 'Funeral Rites and Prayers'. Their address is given below if you wish to write to them. If you need most/all rites for the funeral, and do not wish to refer to any books, then alternatively, you may make another post, and I shall do my best, to answer any specific questions.Jazakallah Khayr,M.
