Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa SallamInna Lilahi wa Inna ilayhi Raj'iun I am so sorry to hear the your father passed away, may Allah the Almighty grant Him a high station in jannah. ( Amin) Jazak'allah for your question. Although some things maybe true, but not all things that are true are recorded in books. I havent come across anything in religious books that states a person who dies knows 40 days before, that he is going to die ... ? As far as the place of burial is concerned, then it is related in some books, that a person is normally created from the same earth in which he will be buried. Alhamdu lillah, your father was very fortunate to have been buried at his mothers feet, as under the mothers feet is where every person's paradise lies... I am equally glad that you recite the 'ahad Namah, it is a very powerful source to recite. However, have you ever tried making a khatam of the Qur'an al kareem every Thursdays and presenting it's reward to your fathers soul? It is related that the souls of the muminin come to the houses of the dwellers of their relatives, and ask if they have anything for them. By making a khatam of the Qur'an al kareem, and by preparing food and having recited the Fatehah and the Quls over it, the reward of this, can then be presented to the souls, and they will not return empty handed. Similarly, any recitations that you make, and any sadaqah or khayrat that you donate, their reward can also be presented to the soul of your father, on a regular basis. This way your fathers soul will be happy. May Allah the Almighty give us all the tawfiq, to make as much recitation of the Qur'an for whichever benefit that befits us. (Amin)Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
