Salaam Brothers and Sisters,
Can you tell me which authority determines the beginning of Ramadan and the sighting of the moon ?

Salam Brother Sadiq, The new moon sighting has occasionally been a contentious issue with certain Mosques. But as far as Sunni affiliated Mosques are concerned we follow the same Shariah rules. I have taken extracts from the following websites for you as i am no scholar on this matter. www.islam786.org/ramadan.htm Taken from the brilliant www.moonsighting.com/

Salaam, The moonsighting.com website also has pictures of difficult to see 'Hilal' (new crescent moons). You can view the pictures by accessing the link below: - www.moonsighting.com/moonphoto.html

Its good that there isnt blind agreement and Mosques at least discuss validations and proofs.

Yes, some wahhabi Mosques had their first Tarawe last night ? Majority of the wahhabis are praying their first Tarabi today, why are some Sunni's following them ?

Majority of the wahhabis are praying their first Tarabi today, why are some Sunni's following them ? I dont think the Sunni Mosques are following them, they may have gone on the strength of moon sightings from other Mosques. Personally you tend to find Mosques with weak Imams and impatient commitees doing it a day early.
