I personally listen to the Hafiz ul-Qur'an, to the words and their possible meaning, that usually helps. Also having a fixed point directly below helps your concentration too.
Where to Look During the Prayer
During the prayer a Muslim should not look here and there or keep his mind someplace else while performing the prayer. A Muslim should focus, pay attention to the words of prayer, and keep in mind that he/she is doing this for the sake of Allah (SWT) and a successful hereafter. The following are recommended eye positions according to the shar'ia (Islamic Law).
During the qiyam position - This is the position when one is standing, and during this position the eyes should be fixed upon where the head will touch during sujood.
During the rukoo position - This is the position when one's hands are touching his/her knees and is reciting Subhana rabbi yal azeem. During this position one's eyes should still be focused upon where the head will touch during sujood.
During the sujood position - This is the position when one's head touches the ground and their reciting Subhana rabbi yal a'la. During this position one's eyes should be focusing upon the ground beneath the eyes.
During the qada position - This is the position when one is sitting on his left leg and the right leg is standing and their reciting Atta hi yatu lillah hi... During this position one's eyes should be focused on the finger with which he/she points in the prayer

Good thread!
Personally, i concentrate from the very beginning, make the intention of praying Taravi, and from the Tarhima to the Takbir try to remain foccussed on the one spot below where my head will touch the floor. The rest should be easy.

During Taraweeh i think as some one has mentioned earlier, i listen out for some/certain phrases i can recognise. Then you can check the English translation afterwards for the meaning if you arent sure, this helps esp from the beginning as you know what Surah you are on.This i find helps my concentration immensly and the Rakats just fly by.
