The first british Muslims arrived in the early nineteenth century in the ports of Cardiif and Liverpool. Its funny you dont see or hear of any masjids or community events in these cities ? There are two mosques in Liverpool a freind of mine went to uni there. But they are both multicultural, with all nationalities, like arabs, turks, pakistani etc. The other mosque is mainly somalian.

History of Islam in China Muslims in China have managed to practise their faith in China, sometimes against great odds, since the seventh century. Islam is one of the religions that is still officially recognised in China. Origins It is believed that Islam began in China during the Caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan, the third Caliph of Islam. The Caliph sent a deputation to China in 29 AH (650 CE, eighteen years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The delegation was headed by Sa’ad ibn Waqqas a maternal uncle of the Prophet. Sa’ad Ibn Waaqas invited the Chinese Emperor (Yung-Wei) to embrace Islam. To show his admiration for Islam the Emperor ordered the establishment of China’s first Mosque. The magnificent Canton Mosque is known to this day as the "memorial mosque" and it still stands after fourteen centuries. In Arab records there are only sparse records of the event, but there is a brief mention in the ancient records of the Tang dynasty. Chinese Muslims consider this event to mark the birth of Islam in China. Trade Many Muslims went to China to trade, and these Muslims began to have a great economic impact and influence on the country. Muslims virtually dominated the import/export industry by the time of the Sung dynasty (960-1279). www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/history/china/index.shtml

Ahmed Faruq, you are either daydreaming or you are a wahhabi pretender. Firstly understand what bidat is, and its meanings. Feasts, sweetmeat, shortbread who told you all this ? An essale sawaab khatam is held across all Ahl Sunnah wal Jamaah homes on the 40th to pay respect for the deceased, the Qur'an is recited, fateha is prayed over prepared food and everyone eats. If you disagree with this then you are not a sunni, (wahhabis believe this is bidat). I am Sunni. Yes, and the Pope is a muslim !! You are EDITED, who thinks he is a sunni, if you dont believe in khatams then you are a EDITED sypmpathiser
Please dont label or accuse someone of being from a misguided sect without concrete evidence! ADMIN

~ One who does not practice modesty and does not refrain from shameless deeds is not a Muslim.
~ He who wishes to enter Paradise must please his father and mother.
~ No one who keeps his mind focussed entirely upon himself, can grow large, strong and beautiful in character.
~ Whoever loves to meet God, God loves to meet him.
~ The five stated prayers erase the sins which have been committed during the intervals between them if they have not been mortal sins.
~ God is not merciful to him who is not so to humankind. He who is not kind to God's creation and to his own children, God will not be kind to him.
~ Whosoever visits a sick person, an angel calls from Heaven: "Be happy in the world and happy be your walking; and take your habitation in Paradise."
~ The love of the world, is the root of all evils.
~ Wealth properly employed is a blessing; and a man may lawfully endeavour to increase it by honest means.
~ One must expect chaos and calamities when incompetent and corrupt individuals capture power to rule over the people and when hooligans, incapable and impious people gather the reins of leadership and are respected by the society.

~ Acquire knowledge, because he who acquires it, in the way of the Lord, performs an act of piety; who speaks of it praises the Lord; who seeks it, adores God, who dispenses instruction in it, bestows alms; and who imparts it to its fitting objects, performs an act of devotion to God. Knowledge enables its possessor to distinguish what is forbidden from what is not; lights the way to Heaven; it is our friend in the desert, our companion in solitude, our companion, it guides us to happiness; it sustains us in misery; it is our ornament in the company of friends; it serves as an armor against our enemies. With knowledge the creatures of Allah rises to the heights of goodness and to noble position, associates with the sovereigns in this world and attains the perfection of happiness in the next.
~ Keep yourselves far from envy, because it eats up and takes away good actions, like the fire that eats up and burns wood.
~ Whoever suppresses his anger, when he has in his power to show it, God will give him a great reward.
~ He is not strong and powerful, who throws people down, but he is strong who withholds himself from anger.
~ Deal gently with a people, and be not harsh; cheer them and condemn not.
~ Much silence and a good disposition; there are no two works better than these.
~ The best of friends is he who is best in behavior and character.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
some more hadiths of Rasoolallah (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam)
~ A man giving in alms one piece of silver in his lifetime is better for him than giving one hundred when about to die.
~ To meet friends cheerfully and invite them to a feast are charitable acts.
~ To extend consideration towards neighbors and send them presents are charitable acts.
~ To acquire knowledge is binding upon all Muslims, whether male or female.
~ The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr.
~ He who travels in the search of knowledge, to him God shows the way of Paradise.

SHOCKING! They fought and won in the churches! So this daft ignorant woman thinks she can do the same in the Mosque and with Islam. Or is she just a Pawn being used by America to ridicule Islam?
Good point Sister, it appears to be heading that way it seems. I dont blame the Ummah it appears to be society in general, things are changing rapidly and family values are being forgotten not just in the US but throughout the west. As for your last point who knows who is behind this, because this woman has reason to be bitter as she was freindly with Daniel Pearl. Espionage ?

Here's a great story on the Most Beloved Prophet's (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) tolerance and humility.
The beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) once borrowed some money from a Jew. After a few days the Jew came to demand payment of his debt. The Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) told him that at that moment he had nothing to pay him with. The Jew said that he wouldn’t let him go until he had paid him back. And so the Jew stayed there, from morning till night, holding the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) captive. At that time the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) was the established ruler of Madinah and could have easily taken action against him.
His Companions naturally wanted to rebuke the man and chase him away. But the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) forbade this, saying, “The Lord has forbidden us to wrong anyone.” The Jew continued to hold the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam)captive until the following morning. But with the first light of dawn, the Jew was moved by the Prophet’s (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) tolerance, and he thereupon embraced Islam.
In spite of being a rich man, he had detained the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) the day before on account of a few pence. But now the Prophet’s (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) noble conduct had had such an impact on him that he was willing to give all his wealth to the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam), saying, - Spend it as you please.

The Blessed Prophet Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam also called al-Qur'an an intercessor, declared that people were intercessors, and gave as an example the intercession of children for the parents who lost them in their infancy.
We ask for the intercession of the dead person every time we pray janaza, when we say: allahumma la tuhrimna ajrahum which means "O Allah, do not prevent their benefit from reaching us." Allah declares that the best people are the Prophets, then those who are absolutely truthful (siddiqin) and these are the great saints, then the martyrs (shuhada), then the righteous (salihin), and the Prophet Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam declared that every person will be making intercession on the Day of resurrection, but with an order of priority among them, just as Allah gives precedence in this world to those who are closest to Him.
All this is a great blessing of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala to the worlds and the reason why we are greatly blessed on this earth despite our sins. For the earth is never empty of the true worshippers and there is still someone left saying "Allah." If you realize this, you will never harbour doubts about Muslims availing themselves of the blessings and guidance that Allah sends to them in the persons of the anbiya' and awliya'.

There are five divine guidelines that the Qur'an clearly presents to Muslims for building tolerance and understanding among differing religions.
Everyone's God-given human dignity must be respected, regardless of his or her faith, race, ethnic origin, gender, or social status (Qur’an 17:70). Because everyone is created by God Almighty, the Maker of all, humans must treat one another with full honour, respect, and loving-kindness.
Islam teaches it is by Divine Will that God's human creation follows different religions, or no religion at all -- no religion is nevertheless a faith, or belief-system (10:99). But God Almighty is not pleased when some humans choose not to believe (39:7)
The Qur'an-e-Pak states clearly that freedom of religion is a God-given right (2:256).
The final judgment of all humanity lies in the hands of God, the One Almighty, their Creator, to whom we all ultimately return (22:68-69), (42:15).
God loves justice and those who strive to practice it, especially toward people who are different from them in any way, including in matters of religious belief (5:8), (60:8).

Everyone knows that excessive tv, films soaps etc are all bad for the heart, mind and soul, but what about the pure Wahhabis - their homes are filled with such gadgets but their websites proclaim (pasted below) ...... i agree with some parts of it but watching it can cause cancer ??!!
Health Risks of TV (as researched by western scientists)
1. Destroys eyesight (Children are mainly affected)
2. Makes the body lazy and immobile.
3. Creates back problems
4. The TV rays are very dangerous. They affect the brain. They are the main cause of cancer
5. Hundreds of TV viewers have died from blood cancer
6. The TV emissions are very fatal.

Steadfastness along the path ordained by Allah (subhanhu wa ta'ala) is the quality of faith and dignified humanity. This must be maintained so that good does not occur casually, incidentally or without deliberation but springs from definite motives and heads towards certain aims. Another quality is belief in the dignity of man in the sight of Allah. This heightens man's regard for himself and restrains him from aspiring for a position higher than that which the Creator has defined for him.
Any ideology or concept which abases this valuation and ascribes a dishonorable origin to man, separating him from the Highest Society of Allah is, in effect inviting him to abjection and derogation, though it may not say so openly. Hence, the effects of Darwinism, Freudianism and Marxism are among the most horrid disasters human nature has encountered.

Good topic. i think our youngsters should be reminded about death more often than not. There careless attitude towards everything in this world will see some of them lead an early grave. They only get one chance in life. Its the society we live in brother, more and more are adopting western ways and cultures. They see no further than the weekend culture, so have no time for anything else.
