I have heard a lot of people who have done wazifas that they have been feeling weird, they feel angry/depressed, afraid etc etc..i also know someone who was religious and probably because of doing a certain wazifa he lost his mental balance, confidence etc...but i don't know how true it is, could someone tell me if its right or wrong to blame wazifas like this? its Allah's name i know but wazifas i feel should be done within the limits and the timings should be same every day as well...right? and ofcourse asked by Imam's and not more then two at the same time...but still there is some kind of confusion in my head about this...

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuSome wazaifs do need permission.. And if u read them without permission then it may have some side effects.. level of those side effects depends on the fact how strong those wazaifs were and how much u could handle.. etc..
and i have been reading dua-e-daud ever since then and i have read that dua about 4000 times now Sis if u are reading this dua without permission then u should stop with it bc u dont know what kind of side effects it may have.. And in one of the q/a-thread Imam Sahib have said that permission for this dua is needed..!! www.ashraf786.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=dua&action=display&thread=23132

Bismillahir Rahmanir RaheemAssalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuI have heard that some Wazeefay when read excessively have great impact on you, like the Ayat e Karima. (nothing major though) What do you mean he lost his mental balance/confidence? I wouldnt ''blame'' Wazeefay, if anyone is to blame you should always start with yourself. Your probably reading them wrong with wrong intention at heart, but thats what I think and I am not a knowledgeable person Fi Aminillah Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Note: Don't simply start reading a wazeefa which you saw or heard of and when ever you want to, please take permission of your sheikh/Murshid b4 doing so if not for sure side effects can be visible for wrong usage.
Normally wazeefa's that are read either they are Quran shareef ayah's, Names of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and the Names of Habeeb-e-paak Hazrath Sayyidna Mohammad Mustafa Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam the Most and we are so illitarate that we actually do not know the power and value of single ayah or name, so for sure b4 implying we really need guidance.
Jazakallah.

What was he like before and what is he like now?
It is hard to believe that reciting allahs names/ quran causes negative effects?

It is hard to believe that reciting allahs names/ quran causes negative effects? Its if the are read excessivly. I dont think we should take the Kalam of Allah Azawajul lightly. The names of Allah Azawajul have alot of jalaal in them. I read one waqiah that someone never got permission from his shaykh to do wazaif he did it and then he got crazy and went running around outside naked. One waqiah which my friends ustaad told him. He is doing alim course. They was a certain Isme E Mubarak which could make people fly. One women read it and she fly all the way to space. She never returned. Apprently this how charecters such as "superman" people thought of.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Ive heard similar issues with Qaseeda Ghausia , if you dont get permission for reading that you can go mad!!. Better to ask before you read something!!

Great replies by all so sister iath it is best to seek guidance from ones Murshid or an alim before starting any waziaf, many waziaf books do state to ask permission.
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and his Nabi Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam know best.

It is also vital to maintain the 5 times a day salat for any wazifah(with ijaza)to be effective.
Regular and consistent practice of simple salawat/durood shareef on the Propher(Sallallahu alaihi wasallam)can solve alot of problems by the grace of Allah.Especially on Fridays inshallah.

Yup thats good advice. No namaz no effect in wazaif. I also read somewhere that its good to put agar batti on when reciting wazaif in dark room. I follow agar batti but the windows allow light in.

i heard from one Learned Man.. that we should aviod reading wazaaif.. because if it is not read with all conditions.. it may have reverse effect and it can also make crazy. and has other effects on the family of the reader too.
as far as i know we should always ask permission with our Shiekhs or PEER SAHAB before reading any wazaaifs...
bt allah and his nabi knows best. Fi-Amaanillah

assalamu alaaykum,
even if ijaazat is taken things can go wrong, i.e the person giving permission fails in his task due to illness/carelessness etc..
i know of a family who did wazaif and were told afterwards that the problems were worse as those gving ijaazat were not good enough??
Can anyone comment???
