I have seen it done over the phone, internet, by letter and by a person who has Ijazat for the Bayt. Now I dont know if these ways are right or wrong but Mashallah I did my Bayt with Hazrat Saab direct one on one and it was the best experiences ever and no internet or phone bayts could compare to face to face bayt

Assalaam Alaikum "Bayt on the internet" means " House on the internet" Bay'ah is the word we are looking for.

I did bayah with hazrat saahib and it is very difficult to meet them, my brothers went 3 times to Karachi and did not even get a glimpse of hazrat sahib. Even on ijtimas etc Baapa jaan do bayaan via phone .
As A woman they would not meet me anyway so internet was best option, to be honest most Daweti islami people I know have yet to do deedar face to face with baap jaan, but I also agree face to face is better experience more spiritual feelings once you meet and see your peer murshid.

Assalaam Alaikum,
I have mixed feelings I think. Firstly for women it is hard to do bayah with peer direct- so in that sense i think it is a good way to use the internet.
However secondly the question is that if one does do bayt on the internet then how does one know that the question asked has actually reached the peer saab themselves- it might just be replied by their close followers.
At the present time i am not Bayt with anybody - I will InshAllah, next time i go to Pakistan- Do bayah with the peer murshid of where my father and brothers are from. The reason being that if a woman has any questions then we can ask the wife of the peer murshid and even their mother- who will find out for us. Also my father and brothers keep in touch over the phone also. They also give us taweez if necessary.
Allah Hafiz.

ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa SallamI did bayah (thanks brother musafir for the clarification) with my peer sahib face to face, as our peer sahib are more like family the mureed system goes back to my forefathers on both my maternal and my paternal side. It was a great experience as peer sahib advised and guided me etc I did bayah before I was married the in laws follow Hazrat maulana Ilyas Qadri sahib whom I respect very much I can understand the sisters doing bayah via internet for purdha reasons etc but what if this facility was not available? There is not that personal dealings with ones peers like sister maneza has pointed out your queries/questions may not get passed onto directly to your peer sahib Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Why is hard for women to do bayah direct. Women are allowed to do baya'h face to face. I dont find anything wrong. Why is it so difficult to meet your Shaykh??? Is Maulana Ilyas Qadri Sahib not keeping well this day's because as sister said he is giving lectures via phone. Or Hazrat Sahib is busy with some deeni work?? I think i am very lucky to be mureed of Shehzadae Gaus-e-Azam Sultanul Arifeen Shaykh Syed Ash Shah Abdul Rahim Hasaniul Hussaini Qadiri Bagdadi Jilani Radi Allahu anhu. Hazrat use to recite 1 Quran Shareef daily then too he use to meet all the mureed's and give them sohbet and uplift them spiritually. I took bayah from hazrat directly no internet and no phone. It was one of the precious moment of my life.
Although i am in USA but Hazrat is just a phone call away from me. I can call him and consult him for any matter.
Jazakallah

Who said there is no face 2 face bayah for women. Pir is your Ruhani Father.
Can you name the Ulema's!!!
For spiritually connected one needs Ruhaniyat power which comes after passing Shariat and entering Tariqat.
Shaytan can also come in your dreams by wearing the face of your Murshid.
I am not against baya'h thru internet.
Some people says its Jaiz because its Owaisi nisbat which is completely wrong.
Bayah thru letter or internet is jaiz and it is know as Usmani bayt because Hazrat Sayyedina Usman Radi Allahu anhu took bayah first thru letter later when he met beloved Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam he renew his baya'h by taking it thru daste mubarak of beloved Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam Yaa Hasan

I know many pirs and shaykhs who have made murids of whole families face to face, but the sister should never be alone when she pledges.
