Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem It is with great sadness that we annouce the intekhal (passing away) of Hajji Sayyad Karamat Hussain Shah Sahib. 'Inna lilahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon' Shah sahib passed away at 2.00am this morning after serious illness sufferred after a second heart attack a few days ago, the first of which occured during the second week of Ramadan. For those that didnt know Shah Sahib, he was a very honest, extremely pious and caring man who resided in Preston, UK. Shah sahib was an active member of Muhaddith al-A'zam Mission Preston Branch as well as a mureed of Hadrat Shaykh al Islam and very well known to the Ashrafiya Khandaan based in the UK. May Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) give him a special place in al-Jannah, and give tawfiq to his loving family and relatives. Amin. Please offer your condolences.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem 'Inna lilahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon'A very sad day indeed, but a perfect departure to heaven on such a blessed day as Eid al-Fitr and Juma. (Verily to Allah we belong and to Him we must return. Allah is Supreme. This is what Allah and His Prophet promised us. Allah and His Prophet spoke the truth. O Allah! Strengthen our faith and resignation unto Thee. All praise is due to Allah Who is strong because of His Might and power and subdued the servants with death.”

Alhamdolillah i had the privelidge to have known Sayyid Karamat Hussain Shah Saheb Ashrafi for over 20 years, and it is of great pleasure to have this opportunity to say a few words in tribute to their life.
Firstly as we all know they were highly regarded and respected in the community due to them being a 'sayyid' decendant of our Noble Prophet peace and blessings be upon him.
My first ever encounter or communication with them was all those years ago when we travelled in a mini coach to London in the 'eighties' to attend the Hyde Park Meelad un Nabi 'juloos' march. Since then we got closer after realising that we shared the same spiritual guide in Hadrat Shaykh al Islam.
During the evening gatherings Hadrat Shaykh al Islam would always insist that Shah saheb should sit by them at the front. This way Hadrat brought in every ones heart the love, respect and recognition that Shah saheb deserves and all decendants of our Noble and Pure Nabi Kareem Alayhis Salaam. And this was evident during the Janaza prayer where we witnessed a great turnout at such short notice on the day of Juma and Eid. Where hundreds of muslims chose to be at the funeral in wet rainy conditions rather than be at their homes celebrating the festival of eid.
Shah Saheb were instrumental in the building of the Aqsa mosque on Fishwick Parade in Preston. They were in the forefront with the initial collections to the establishment of the first committee. When internal politics and back stabbing started to enter and come in between what was a united committee Shah Saheb eventually took no further part with the running of the mosque thus preserving their integrity and honour.
Shah Saheb were amongst the true devount mureeds of Shaykh al Islam. They would always be there at the airport receptions, lectures and gatherings up and down the country. Shah Saheb always had a special place in their heart for fellow 'Ashrafi brothers' and would always greet them with great affection. However they had much reservations for 'so called' or artificial ashrafis who have recently been exposed due to the unfolding of events in the last 10 years or so. They also had a very close and fond relationship with another of the ex-great 'devoutly sunni' personalities of Preston Hadrat Mawlana Amaanullah Saheb marhoom, may Allah elevate and bless his soul.
They were also seen by the whole community as a caring, loving and family man. They had a very close knit family and were clearly very very fond and proud of all their children. They always had nice things to say about them to other people and always strived and went out of their way to meet their requirements. Shah saheb were a very kind hearted man they were always in a happy mood. They had a terrific sense of humour and would change a bad atmosphere with their jokes to a happy one.
Shah Saheb were an extremely staunch and strict sunni muslim. They never had time for misguided muslims or sects. They were so punctual in their prayers and prevalent in the mosque during seminars and gatherings. They were also well known amongst the Scholars especially the Ashrafi circles, before their death they wished to their family for Hadrat Allama Sayyid Mufti Shamsudoha Saheb to perform their funeral prayer.
As with all great men in history there were also those who were envious or begrudged Shah saheb (not openly) but we learned and gathered through their actions, sometimes they even questioned why we kissed their hands for example but on the day they died Almightly Allah showed the world what special place He had reserved for His servant. There are many incidents and events one can write about regarding their experience with this highly great person but i will end here and say that leaving everything to one side their name itself was 'Karamat' and i think this sums up their life and their death. May Allah the most Glorious and Sublime Bless his soul his grave and give him eternal peace, and grant him the highest station in Paradise. May He also give 'sabr' patience and endurance to all of his family, and may He help us all to honour and respect all the decendants of His Beloved and Most Merciful Messenger infinate peace and blessings be upon him.
