Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhuwhy are 2 qiblas there? Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuThere's no two Qiblas there but it's the Masjid which is called Masjid Qiblatain (the Masjid with the two Qiblas), a name derived from the following event: When Salaat was enjoined upon our Beloved Master Sayyidinah Muhammad Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam and His Ummat after the Blessed event of Mi'raj Shareef, He (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam) and the Muslims used to face in the direction of Bait al-Muqaddas in al-Quds, in Jerusalem. This was practiced in Makkah Shareef and continued in Madinah Shareef until the second year after Hijrah when Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala revealed the verse below of the Qur'an Shareef to our Beloved Master Sayyidinah Muhammad Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam to change direction and to face towards Makkah. And so it is that We have made you the best nation for You are witnesses against mankind, and the Noble Messenger is your guardian and your witness; and We had appointed the Qiblah which you formerly observed only to see (test) who follows the Noble Messenger, and who turns away; and it was indeed hard except for those whom Allah guided; and it does not befit Allah's Majesty to waste your faith! Indeed Allah is Most Compassionate, Most Merciful towards mankind. (Surah Baqarah 2:143)Our Beloved Master Sayyidinah Muhammad Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam was facing Jerusalem and after completing two raka'at of the noon prayer Sayyidinah Jibrail (Alayhis Salaam) communicated to Him (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam) the command of Allah Subnahanhu Wa Ta'ala. He (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam) was directed by Sayyidinah Jibrail (Alayhis Salaam) to turn completely around. He then turned His Bessed Body towards the Ka'bah Shareef during the prayer, and His followers did the same. Due to this happening at that place the Masjid became known as Masjid Qiblatain (the Masjid with the two Qiblas). It was the desire of our Beloved Master Sayyidinah Muhammad Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam to turn His Blessed Face towards the Maqaam e Ibrahim (Alayhis Salaam) while facing Bait al-Muqaddas. In Madinah Shareef, the Jews also were facing Bait al-Muqaddas (Jerusalem) in prayer and were unhappy about the fact that Muslims had the same Qiblah as theirs. So they attempted to use this fact to tarnish the image of Islam thereby that of our Beloved Master Sayyidinah Muhammad Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam. They spread the argument that Muslims claimed to have a religion whose laws superseded all other previous laws, yet they did not have an independent Qiblah, but offered their prayers facing the Qiblah of the Jews. After knowing this Our Beloved Master Sayyidinah Muhammad Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam used to come out at night and look into the sky awaiting the revelation from Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala about this matter and the following verse was revealed prior to that situation: We observe You turning Your Face, several times towards heaven; so We will definitely make You turn (for prayer) towards a Qiblah which pleases You; therefore now turn Your Face towards the Sacred Mosque (in Mecca); and O Muslims, wherever you may be, turn your faces (for prayer) towards it only; and those who have received the Book surely know that this is the truth from their Lord; and Allah is not unaware of their deeds. (Surah Baqarah 2:144)From this we also learn that Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala seeks to please His Beloved Noor (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam).

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
24th May 2009
Went back to Masjid Quba again after breakfast, and we visited Masjid Quba everyday to get the sawaab of an Umra InshAllah.
Went for a long stroll after Isha there had been a sandstorm and it was very cloudy and foggy making the atmosphere very muggy. Went to a restaurant and met a family from Derby and its midnight before we got to our hotel and had to be up in couple of hours for tahajjud and fajar, boys cannot believe their luck they are able to stay up late!
25th May 2009
Visited the local mosques (well the outside as they are closed), Masjid Ali Radi Allahu anhu, Masjid Umar Radi Allahu anhu and Masjid Usman Radi Allahu anhu, these Mosques are opened during Hajj season for the local residents to read Jumma namaz etc. Masjid Ali Radi Allahu anhu is surrounded by many Iranians who are wailing and doing fateha loudly.
26th May 2009
Went to do fateha at Jannat Baqi once again very busy quickly did Fateha and did salaam to all the residents. 27th may 2009
Met a sister from Chicago originally from Pakistan she is a moderator of another forum, we both sat and read Darood shareef and eagely waiting to do ziyarah she was happy to she had met someone that shared the same beliefs as her. She is leaving for Mecca shareef in the morning and informed me that if anyone that goes and leaves Mecca shareef and reads Surah Al Qasas ayah number 84 “ Whosoever brings good (Islamic Monotheism along with righteous deeds), he shall have the better thereof, and whosoever brings evil (polytheism along with evil deeds) then, those who do evil deeds will only be requited for what they used to do.”
and then mention ones name they will be called for Umra or Hajj inshAllah so naturally I ask her to mention my family’s name.
Tonight is our last night in Madina shareef :'(as we are leaving straight after fajar. We all did ziyarah and are very emotional as we shall be departing from the beautiful city and from our Beloved Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam.
After Isha we bought some food and sat in the courtyard and had our meal which was very pleasant as tonight there was a slight breeze and sat facing Gumbade Hazra and then walked around Masjid Nabwi Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam reciting Darood shareef.
28th May 2009
Woke up at 3am for Tahajjud and went for fajar and final salaam in Masjid Nabwi Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam back to the hotel room, taxi is booked for 5am arrived at Madina Shareef Airport 5.30am flight to Jeddah is at 7.35am, The 55 minute flight journey was very uncomfortable went through turbulence.
The flight from Jeddah airport to Heathrow is at 12noon so have over 3 hours wait so have breakfast.
We go through customs, immigration no problems as we are about to board the plane final checks are made on our hand luggage, they confiscated my sons toys and their lousy excuse was the toys resembled guns etc my sons was in tears and told them Saudi airlines are rubbish and they laughed it off I was surprised they did not arrest him or us.
Arrived back on British Soil 4.50pm and guess what my eldest brother and brother in law are running late meaning we had to wait an hour before being picked up which was annoying as this was the only hitch of my umra journey.
Arrived at my house to be greeted by dear parents, brothers, sister in laws and niece and nephews. So happy to see my dear mum who could not stop kissing me.
Al hamdulilla this was a wonderful journey naturally I was nervous taking the boys but we faced no problems whatsoever and everything went smoothly.
All I can say this was the result of my parents endless dua and the blessings of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and his habeeb Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam.
I am so longing to go back soon as I miss it so much and everything is so visible and clear in my mind, my sons are forever talking about umra and asking can we go back next week, my dua is that may Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and his Rasool Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam keep this longing and desire for such places in our hearts forever ameen.
JazakAllah everyone for reading and for your lovely comments.
Talib e Dua
