Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
After endless pm's/requests to post my umra diary, I am keeping my word and hope you enjoy reading it.
We had planned to go to umra in Easter holidays due to my mothers health deteriorating we were unable to go.
It all began one Sunday when my youngest son returned home from Islamic Class, saying he wanted to go to Umra, my eldest son told me that his younger brother informed the whole class that when our Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam smiled their teeth were brighter than the sun and his teacher was well impressed and asked my son where he wanted to go as he was going to award him a ticket to any theme park in UK and my sons response was I want to go to Umra (leaving the teacher speechless). And I too was well chuffed and I was prompted to search the net for flights to Saudi Arabia I searched for umra packages but they were not suitable and were expensive.
I found a direct flight from Heathrow to Jeddah and I booked on line which was much cheaper. Yet I had the problem in arranging school holidays, visas, vaccinations for my 2 sons and my holidays from work. Being the Easter Holidays that did not help. Although I took advantage of the holidays by sewing clothes, shopping, buying ihrams for the boys within a week my suit cases were packed and I was ready to travel all pending on the success of my mothers operation which al hamdulilla went well asked permission from my parents who insisted I went and do dua for my dear mother.

The day I was traveling, my flight is at 9pm from Heathrow the boys were at school till midday and I was at work till noon too. On arrival from school the boys were given a haircut making shaving after they have performed umra easier and pain free.
We all did ghusal we have decided to wear our ihram on the plane as Saudi Airlines announce meeqat. My mother came to my house directly from the hospital after being dialysis ed so I quickly made Lunch for her and we did fateha over fruit for a safe journey, read nawafil before leaving home, my father and brother in law are dropping us off at the airport. Said my goodbyes mum is very emotional as she has become very attached to me with her illness she is also suffering from slight dementia which is very heartbreaking. My dua was I come safely and get the chance to do khidmat of my elderly parents inshAllah.
Arrive at Heathrow 5.30pm my sister in law who lives in Slough has come to see us off as well as some friends I made during Hajj so this was very pleasant to see them again.
The flight was very pleasant very exciting, my youngest is so eager to wear his ihram keeps on asking “can I wear my ihram Yet ?”.
Finally the announcement was made that were approaching meeqat the men went to wear their ihram and read nawafil in the allocated area. My scarf was put on accordingly. Talbiya was read intention made.

Arrived at Jeddah airport local time 5am. Al hamdulilla getting through immigration was swift and smooth. My fathers associate had come to meet and greet us, we arrived at Mecca shareef 7am approx. Straight to the hotel made fresh wudhu and headed towards the Kaaba Shareef on the way told the boys to remember to make a dua when sighting the kaaba shareef for the first time as well as reciting the talbiya.
Seeing the kaaba shareef for the first time was sensational
I became very emotional and made my duas and prepared to perform tawaaf. Being morning time it was not busy there performing tawaaf was comfortable, my youngest son and I managed to touch the Kaaba Shareef which really bought a smile to his face. Read nawafil at muqame Ibrahim
My sons got a really good view and they kissed the glass. Next stop zam zam and then to perform sai. My youngest son found the last lap a struggle as the tiles were hurting his small feet many words of encouragements and bribery did the trick, next stop to find the barbers , al hamdulilla by 9am we returned to our hotel room to shower and removal of our ihrams. So proud of my sons today rang my family back home UK and Pakistan all very pleased and happy for my sons
To be continued inshAllah.......
