Sometimes carrying out wudu is not enough before prayers and worship. I personally prefer to perform ghusal more often as it cleanses not only your complete body but your mind and conscience as well. You know exactly whay you are about to do.
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 257: Narrated Maimuna from Bukhari
I placed water for the bath of the Beloved Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam. He washed his hands twice or thrice and then poured water on his left hand and washed his private parts. He rubbed his hands over the earth (and cleaned them), rinsed his mouth, washed his nose by putting water in it and blowing it out, washed his face and both forearms and then poured water over his body. Then he withdrew from that place and washed his feet.

Good post Brother Akhtar, not sure about choice of title ? Why has Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) created mankind ? "And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they may worship Me." (Qur'an 51:57) This is the most often quoted purpose. Worship in the sense of glorification was, however, already being done before the creation of man. Excellent post. I cant see anything wrong with the title, in fact its very cleverly done, and its what attracted me to the topic. Jazakallah.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu This reminds of a time when Maulana Irshad Misbahi did a speech about when he went to America. He was staying in some muslims house and he asked for a musalla to pray salat. Anyway they brought it to him and when he asked for direction of qibla, their was silence .. he asked again where is qibla, these 'muslims' did not know where the qibla was ? I dont know what happened after that but i dont think Maulana will be staying thier again.

The verse of the throne :
Recite this when about to sleep, in doing so you shall have smooth restful sleep and will feel refreshed in the morning. Praying every night and morning will guide you to Jannah.
Allahu la ilaha illa huw(a), al hayyul qayyum(u), la ta'khuzuhu sinatuw wa la naum(un), lahu ma fis samawati wa ma fil ard(i), man zal lazi yasyfa'un 'indahu illa bi iznih(i), ya'lamu ma baina aidihim wa ma_ khalfahum wa la yuhituna bi syai'im min'ilmihi illa bima sya'(a), wasi'a kursiyyuhus samawati wal ard(a), wa la ya'uduhu hifzuhuma, wa huwal 'aliyyul 'azim(u).

Mashallah, great thread ..... contender for thread of the week (hint, hint ) From Hadrat Anas bin Malik (Radi'allahuanhu): "I never felt a silk cloth, nor pure silk, nor any other thing softer than the palm of Rasulullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam). Nor did I smell any musk or any other fragrance, more sweet smelling than the fragrance of Rasullullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam). " Also from Shamail-e-Tirmidhi Alhamdulillah, beautiful thread. This is what i like, surely another miracle, Those who saw the Beloved Messenger (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) would say: ‘One with such a face cannot lie.’ One’s face reveals one’s inner world and character. Those who saw the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam), upon him be peace and blessings, could not help but admire his appearance and, if they were unprejudiced, acknowledge his truthfulness. For example, ‘Adbullah ibn Salam, the most renowned Jewish scholar of the time, believed in him at his first sight of him, saying: ‘One with such a face cannot lie.’ Allahhumma Salle Allah Sayyiduna wa Muhammadin.

Use of Itr (Perfume)
A sweet fragrance naturally emitted from the mubaarak body of Sayyidina Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam), as though he did not use itr. In a narration Sayyidina Anas radiyallahu anhu says: 'I did not smell anything more fragrant than the smell of Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam). The fragrance was better than Amber and Musk.
Various other narrations testify to this. Many narrations are mentioned in the books of hadith, where it is stated that the perspiration of Sayyidina Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) was used instead of itr.
A narration from Sayyiditina Umme Sulaym (radi allahu anha) is related in the Sahih Muslim and other kitaabs, that once while Sayyidina Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) was sleeping, sweat began to emit from his mubaarak body. She began collecting it in a small bottle. The mubaarak eyes of Sayyidina Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) opened. He asked her what she was doing. She replied: "When we use this in our itr, it has the most fragrance".
Once Sayyidina Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) blew (made damm) on his palm and wiped it over the back and stomach of Sayyidina Uqbah (radi allahu anhu). It became so fragrant, and as he had four wives, every one of them put on so much itr, to equal that fragrance, but it could not overcome the fragrance Uqbah radiyallahu anhu had.
What should I do with the sweet smell of flowers O Nasim (fragrant breeze).
The clothing is also hopeful of attaining a sweet smell.
Sayyidina Abu Ya'laa (radi allahu anhu) and others relate that in whichever alley Sayyidina Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) passed, others who passed later knew immediately that Sayyidina Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) had just passed there. Many other narrations are reported on this subject. Besides this Sayyidina Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) usually used itr.
Anas radiyallahu anhu says: "Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) had a 'Sukkah'. He used a fragrance from it".
Commentary
The ulama give two meanings to the word 'Sukkah'. Some say it is an itr box, in which itr is kept. In this case it will mean he used the fragrance from an itr box.
Some ulama say it is a mixture of various fragrances. The author of Qaamus and others prefer this meaning, and have also written the full recipe of how it is made.
Thumaamah bin Abdullah radiyallahu anhu reports, Anas bin Maalik did not refuse itr, and used to say that Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) never refused (the acceptance of) itr".
Ibn Umar (radi allahu anhu) says, "Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) said, 'Three things should not be refused: pillow; fragrance (itr-oil); and milk."
Commentary
These things are mentioned because it is not a burden upon the one who gives these presents and by refusing, one may at times offend the giver. All these things are included in those which are simple and does not burden the one that presents it. By pillow, some ulama say it means presenting a pillow, as it does not burden a person. Some Ulama say that it is just for one's use while sitting, lying, sleeping, leaning, etc.
Abu Hurayrah radiyallahu anhu narrates: "Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) said, "The itr of a male is the fragrance of which spreads and has less colour in it (i.e. rose, kewrah etc.), and the itr of a female is that, which has more colour and less fragrance (hina, mendhi, za'faraan etc.)".
Commentary
Males should use a fragrance that is masculine, as colour does not suit them. Women should use a feminine fragrance, which does not give off a strong fragrance, it must be such that its fragrance does not reach strangers.
Abu Uthman An-Nahdi (At-Taabi'ee) radiyallahu anhu relates that Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) said: "If one is given rayhaan, he should not refuse it, because it originates from Jannah."
Commentary
From this, is it only the rayhaan itself that is meant or other fragrant substances also included? The linguists give both meanings, and both may be intended here. Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) made an imitation of the fragrance of Jannah in this world, because this may be an incentive for the people towards Jannah, and also increase their desire and zeal for it. People are naturally attracted to something fragrant. What comparison can there be made with the original fragrance of Jannah. It shall have such a strong fragrance, that the distance of five hundred years will have to be covered to reach its source.

Allah the Mighty and Majestic says: "Evil and mischief have appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned, that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah)." [al-qur'an 30:41] Every disaster and every calamity that befalls the servants is due to their sins and wrongdoing. So know, servants of Allah (Subhanhu wa Ta'ala), what wrongdoing does to its doers. Alhamdolilah a great post.

Tsunami: ‘God's unseen hand’ saved Indonesia’s mosques By: Abdullah
BANDA ACEH, Indonesia: Indonesia's mosques defied colossal forces of worst tsunami under ‘God's invisible hand’.
In the country’s tsunami wastelands on the northern tip of Sumatra island, little remains of whole towns lost to the gigantic forces that came thundering in from the Indian ocean on December 26. But across these battered shores, dozens of mosques still stand, their minarets glinting defiantly in the sun - a phenomenon survivors in the deeply Islamic region credit as much to divine intervention as robust architecture.
“God's invisible hands prevents the mosque's destruction,” said Mukhlis Khaeran, who saw the sea sweep away his home village of Baet outside the north Sumatran city of Banda Aceh, but leave the neighborhood mosque relatively intact.
“He punishes us for our greed and arrogance but He will protect his house,” Khaeran said, his arms covered with injuries sustained in the disaster that killed at least 100,000 people around the north Sumatran province of Aceh.
Mosques are an everyday sight in most of Indonesia, but especially in Aceh, credited with the being one of Islam's main gateways into the archipelago of islands which now forms the world's largest Muslim-populated country.
Despite a long-lasting independence struggle, Aceh has remained a Muslim heartland for Indonesia.
On December 26, an epic earthquake sent towers of water crashing ashore, obliterating virtually everything in their path. While some spoke of "God's wrath", hundreds turned to their mosques, in panic for shelter from the advancing tides and later for spiritual comfort in a time of desperate need.
In the village of Kaju, also outside Banda Aceh, hundreds of homes were annihilated while the local mosque suffered only a few cracks in the walls.
According to chief cleric Teungku Kaoy Ali 100 frightened people sheltering inside their mosque in Pasi Lhok, some 20 kilometres (12 miles) east of the north Aceh town of Sigli, were spared while almost every house in the surrounding five villages was pulverized.
In Meubolah, a town on Aceh's western coast less than 150 kilometres (95 miles) from the quake epicenter which bore the full force of the tsunami, leaving at least 10,000 dead, mosques stand sentinel over a vanished town center.
Banda Aceh resident Achyar said when he saw the waves pounding in from the sea, his first instinct was to turn and run for the nearest mosque.
"I climbed the mosque tower and hung on to an electric wire until water receded," he said. "Many of my friends, many of them ethnic Chinese, died because they climbed to the second floor of their shops and were trapped there," he said.
Another, less divine, explanation for the survival of the mosques is that many are built much more sturdily than most of the other structures in the towns and cities of Aceh.
However one mosque in Sigli was made only of wood but still survived unscathed despite all the other buildings around it being destroyed.
Banda Aceh's grand Baiturrahman mosque suffered partial damage from the quake and tsunami, but proved invaluable to the city's survivors in the minutes, hours and days that followed the cataclysm.
For many it became a rallying place to search for missing friends or relatives, a makeshift hospital to treat the injured and a morgue to collect the dead.
With much of Banda Aceh likely to remain in ruins for months, residents were quick to repay their debt to their cherished religious buildings, working swiftly to ensure the Baiturrahman mosque was one of the first places restored.

Suffering can also be a test and trial for some people. Allah allows some people to suffer in order to test their patience and steadfastness. Even Allah’s Prophets and Messengers were made to suffer. Prophet Ayyub (alaihi asalam) is mentioned in the Qur’an al-Kareem as a Prophet who was very patient.
Good people sometimes suffer but their sufferings heal others and bring goodness to their communities. People learn lessons from their good examples. Martyrs die for their faith, soldiers give their lives for their nations and this brings liberation and freedom for their people.
This is a test, fear and remember Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala always.

Very good point, i have no logical answers other than the paternal blood and spirit of the Prophet (Saw) being within Sayeduna Abdul RA, would be deemed sufficeient to be known as Ashahaab under these circumstances ? Some more conclusive facts, not that any more proof was needed upon the stats of the parents of Nabi-e-Akram SAW : THE PARENTS OF RASOOLULLAH (SALLAL LAAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) ARE MU'MINS1. It is a proven fact from the Holy Quran and Ahadith that the parents of the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) (SallaAllahu Alaihiwa Sallam) Sayyiduna Abdullah and Sayyidah Aamina (radi Allahu anhuma) - were always on Iman and left this world with Iman. 2. Just as the cities of Makkah and Madina are the most exalted cities in the world due to being the birthplace & place of demise of the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam), likewise, the genealogy of the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam) is the most exalted and pure chain in the universe. 3. All his forefathers, from his father, Hazrat Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu), to Hazrat Adam (alaihis Salaam), were Mu'min, Muwaahids (believers in the Oneness of Allah), Aabids and Zaahids. None from amongst them were idol-worshippers or Faasiqs (sinners). 4. Actually, the Noor of Rasoolullah (SallaAllahu alaihiwa Sallam) travelled from Hazrat Adam (alaihis salaam) to Hazrat Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu), in the family chain of those who always sincerely worshipped One Allah. 5. For those who say, Ma'az-Allah, that the parents of the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) were nonbelievers, they should think and ponder that if the parents of no other Prophet were non-believers, how then would the parents of the greatest of all Prophets be non-believers? 6. In the era in which the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam)’s (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) parent's lived all that was required for Iman was to affirm the true belief in the Oneness of Almighty Allah. Neither did they commit Kufr nor was their Iman changed, so they cannot be regarded as sinners or Kaafirs. They remained true Mu'mins in life and when they passed away. 7. The great Ulama have proven the Iman and Islam of the parents of the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) in three different ways:- 7.1 Both of them were on Deen-e-Haneef – following the teachings of Hazrat Ibrahim (alaihis salaam). 7.2 In their time, they had not received direct invitation of previous Prophets to their Deen. They passed away with Iman, believing in One Allah before the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) announced his Prophethood. 7.3 Due to the Du'a of Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam), Allah Ta’ala gave life to his parents who were buried in their graves and they brought Iman on him. After Hajjat-ul Widaa, he brought them back to life with the permission of Allah Ta’ala. By seeing him and bringing Iman on him, they became Sahaabi-e-Rasool (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam). (Fatawa Razviah; Tafseer-e-Na'eemi) 8. The Holy Quran states: "There had come unto you a Messenger (one) of yourselves." In another reading the Fah (ARABIC) of ARABIC is pronounced with a Zabbar (ARABIC), which would mean that this most honourable Prophet has come from a most honourable group or society. Naturally, the idolaters cannot be termed as a honourable group, but on the contrary, as the most wicked. The above argument proves that the parents of Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) and his entire genealogical trace were a most honourable group and believed in One Allah. 9. A Tradition extracted from Bukhari found in Miskhaat, under the Chapter "Fazaa'il Syedul Mursaleen," contains the following words of the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam): "I have been sent from the best group of the children of Adam, from one group to the next, till I am in that group which I am." 10. The above Hadith substantiates that the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) has been carried along the best and most noble group. The revolution of his light (Noor) has always remained within clean and pure wombs. Whose womb can be considered as clean and pure, but that of a true Believer in One Almighty Allah! 11. In Miskhaat, in the Chapter "Ziarat Quboor," it is stated that the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) sought permission from Allah Ta’ala to visit the grave of his mother, not to seek her forgiveness. We ask, in all honesty, that if she was a disbeliever, why was he even given permission to visit her grave when it is stated explicitly in the Holy Quran not to even visit the graves of disbelievers? This proves that she was not a disbeliever or else he would not have been given permission to even stand at her grave. As to the question of forgiveness, he was not permitted to ask for their forgiveness because they were not sinners. A sinner or disbeliever is he upon whom a set of Divine Laws has reached and who intentionally violates it. A set of pure Divine Laws did not reach the parent's of Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam), yet they believed in One Allah. How then could they be termed as idolaters? 12. Before the arrival of the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) his mother also witnessed strange things during her pregnancy as well as the time of his birth. During her pregnancy, in every month a different Prophet used to appear to her in her dream describing to her of the wonderful and glorious attributes of her expected child, the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). Once, the midwife, Bibi Halima (radi Allahu anha), in a state of apprehension, described to Bibi Aaminah (radi Allahu anha) the splitting of her son's chest. Bibi Aaminah (radi Allahu anha) replied that she should not be afraid as her son was the true and Last Prophet and that the Shaitaan would not be able to harm him in any way. So how is it possible to refer to her as a disbeliever after she had witnessed all the strange happenings and wonderful experiences? It is emphatically impossible. 13. The Holy Quran states: "We never punish until We have sent a Messenger." The Pure Message or a Messenger never reached both of Rasoolullah's (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) parents, so how could they be punished? Yes, without doubt, they believed in the Religion of Hazrat Ibrahim (alaihis salaam), that is, in One Allah. Yet, as history proves, the Divine Books at that time had been misinterpreted and tampered with by human beings. The criterion of being called a person of faith at that time was strictly to believe in One God, which the parents of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) believed in. It would be unfair to, therefore, call them disbelievers. 14. Shaykh Muhaddith Dehlwi (radi Allahu anhu) said that the parents of all Prophets were never disbelievers. 15. At the time of the construction of the Holy Kaaba, Hazrat Ibrahim (alaihis salaam) prayed to Allah Ta’ala. The Holy Quran confirms: "And raise up in their midst a Messenger from among them." The Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) being raised from among the Muslim group is a fulfilment of Hazrat Ibrahim's (alaihis salaam) supplication. 16. With regards to the question of raising the dead, it is not an impossibility. This fact has been clearly proven by Hazrat Isa, Hazrat Moosa and Hazrat Hazkeel (alaihimus salaam). It has been reported in the Ahadith that close to Qiyamah, even the Kaafir Dajjal will be able to raise the dead. It has been reported that the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) also raised the dead as was in the case of Hazrat Jaber's (radi Allahu anhu) children and the entire group. (Qurtabi, Madaarijun Nabuwat, Shaami) 17. The concept of accepting faith after death is not an impossibility. The Ahadith have proven that the Ashab-e-Kaaf will be raised from their graves and will join the forces of Imam Mehdi. They will even perform the Holy Pilgrimage. 18. Another point to remember is that if the parents of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) were disbelievers, why were there names "Abdullah" and "Aaminah"? The meaning of "Abdullah" is "Slave of Allah" and "Aaminah" means "One with Faith." 19. Addressing the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), Almighty Allah states in the Holy Quran: "And soon will thy Lord give you (that wherewith) you shall be well pleased." Taking this verse into account, which dutiful and obedient son will be pleased at seeing his parents in Hell? Ask yourselves the question: Will it please the Almighty Allah to see the parents of Hazrat Isa and Hazrat Moosa (alaihimus salaam) in Paradise and the parents of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) in Hell? Without doubt, during their life in this world they believed in One Allah and on the day of the Farewell Pilgrimage they were raised and made to recite the Kalima, thereby joining the folds of the Believers.

I've picked out this important Sura -Sura al Muzzammil
Translation of Quran In English by Ala Hazrat Imam Ahmad Rida Khan Rehmatullahi Alaihim (Surah Al-Muzzammil)
1. 'O the enwrapped one!
2. Stand praying at night except a small portion thereof.
3. Half night or make it a little less than that.
4. Or make it a little more than that and recite Quran slowly and thoughtfully.
5. Undoubtedly, soon We shall be casting on you a weighty word.
6. Undoubtedly, getting up at night is most pressing and the word is pronounced most rightly.
7. Undoubtedly, you have a chain of engagements during the day.
8. Therefore remember the name of your Lord, and be of Him exclusively leaving all others.
9. He is the Lord of the east and west, there is no god but He, so take Him as Disposer of Affairs.
10. And be patient over what the infidels say and leave them decently.
11. And leave to Me those beliers the rich ones and give them a little time.
12. Undoubtedly, We have heavy fetters and raging fire.
13. And a choking food and a painful torment.
14. On a day when the earth and the mountains shall quake, and the mountains will become heaps of sand flowing.
15. Undoubtedly, We sent towards you a Messenger who is a witness over you, as We sent to Firawn a Messenger.
16. But Firawn dis-obeyed the Messenger, then We seized him with a severe seizing.
17. Then how you will save yourselves if you disbelieve against a day which will make children old.
18. The sky will be split on account of its grief. The promise of Allah shall be fulfilled.
19. Undoubtedly, this is an admonition, therefore, let him who please take a way unto his Lord.
20. Undoubtedly, your Lord knows that you stand up for prayer sometime for nearby two third of the night, sometime half of the night, sometime a third of the night, and also a party of those who are with you. And Allah estimates the night and the day. He knows that you muslims can not count the night, then He turned towards you with His mercy, now recite from Quran as much as is easy for you He knows that soon some of you will fell ill and some others will travel in the earth seeking the bounty of Allah and some others will be fighting in the way of Allah, so recite Quran what you can, and continue keeping prayer and pay, the poor-due (Zakat) and give a goodly loan to Allah. And whatever good you will send forward for you, you will find it with Allah as better and greater reward. And beg forgiveness from Allah. Undoubtedly, Allah is Forgiving Merciful.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY WE WERE BORN, WHY DO WE EXIST, WELL i USED TO ... heres an article which should guide the confused Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem "I was a hidden treasure and loved to be known" - Hadith Qudsi In this Hadith, Allah gives the objective for creating physical existence - this world. His objective is to be 'known', for creation to be 'aware, FULLY' of HIM not just partially, but fully. This is what a scientist had to say .... "Existence appears to me like a conquest over nought...If I ask myself why bodies or minds exist rather than nothing, I find no answer; but that a logical principle, such as A = A, should have the power of creating itself, triumphing over the nought throughout eternity, seems to be natural...Suppose then the principle on which all things rest, and which all things manifest, possesses an existence of the same nature as that of definition of a circle, or of that as the axiom A = A: the mystery of existence vanishes..." Henri BergsonYes I agree To simplify things Allah made everything out of nothing !

How ironic when he have a thread about ''Allah Ta'ala's desire to please His Most Beloved Messenger'' Salla Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam that we come to Hadrat Sideeq -e-Akbar RadiAllahuAnho and his desire to please the Bleoved Prophet Salla Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam. Well said brother, and a good thread.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu, Excellent post and a timely reminder for me. Lately I have been feeling so tired and not wanting to wake up early or stay up late. This has reminded me that there is a lot of blessing in abstinence of sleep if you spend this time in Ibaadat. Jazak Allah Khair Fi Amanillah well said brother and welcome back.
