Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) said "The Jews split into 71 groups; one will enter Paradise and 70 will enter Hell. The Christians split into 72 groups; 71 will enter Hell and one will enter Paradise. By Him in Whose Power is the life of Muhammad, without doubt, my Ummah will be divided into 73 groups. Only one will enter Paradise and 72 will enter Hell."
When asked which group will be on the right path, the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) replied, "The main (al-Jama'ah) body of the Muslims." [Ibne Majah Kitab al-Fitan]

Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him {pbuh})
Muslims do believe that Prophet Jesus was sent down as a Prophet of Allah (God), but he (Jesus) is not God or Lord, nor the son of God. He was born without a father. Prophet Adam - Adam & Eve (peace be upon them) was born WITHOUT a father AND WITHOUT a mother- this does not make them even bigger sons or daughters of God either.
Muslims do not believe that Isa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam also known as Jesus by Christians and others, is dead or was ever crucified. We believe that he was raised to heaven and is there, and will descend at the appointed time, end all wars, and bring peace to the world. Like Jesus Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is also a Prophet and Messenger. Muhammed (P.B.U.H.) is the last Prophet, though, and there is none after him. Hence, Islam is the last religion, complete, with the Holy Qur'an as the unchanged and perfect word of God for over 1400 years, as God promised to preserve it till the last day for all of humankind, unlike sacred texts of other religions which have mulitple versions and are "revised" periodically. God, or Allah in Arabic, is Divine and Supreme Being and Creator.
What the Holy Qur'an says about Jesus:
They slew him not, nor did they crucify him but it was made dubious to them. (Holy Qur'an, Surah Nisaa, Verse 157)
Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) himself told of the coming of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). In the Bible, Jesus (A.S.) says,
If you love me, Keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father and He shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever. (Bible, John 14-15/16)
But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me, and he also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. (Bible, John 15-26/27)
I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. How be it when he, the spirit of Truth will come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall speak not of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that he shall speak, and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me, for he shall receive of mine, and he shall show it unto you. (Bible, John 16-12/14)
Learned scholars in Islam have said that the person who is described by Prophet Jesus (pbuh) to come after him - in the above verse - does not comply with any other person but Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
In this case, the "comforter" he mentions is none other than Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his laws and way of life (Shariah) and Book (Holy Qur'an) are those that Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) asks his followers to abide by.
The "person" whom Jesus (pbuh) prophecised will come after him, is called Pargaleeta in the Bible . This word was deleted by interpreters and translators and changed at times to "Spirit of Truth" and at other times, to "comforter" and sometimes "Holy Spirit." The original Greek and its meaning is "one whom people praise exceedingly." The sense of the word, then, is applicable to the word Muhammad in Arabic, since Muhammad means "the praised one."
Jesus (A.S.) also says in the Bible,
... and a little while and you shall not see me; and again a little while, you shall see me because I go to the Father. (Bible, John 16:16)
... and the Holy Qur'an says,
And surely they slew him not. But Allah (God) raised him unto Himself. (Holy Qur'an, Surah Nisaa, Verse 157-158)
As such, Muslims believe that Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was raised to heaven. According to islaam, he is on the second heaven. Prophet Mohammed ( Peace be upon him) mentioned, "During the Meraj (Ascension), I met Jesus (pbuh) on the second heaven. I found him of medium stature, reddish white. His body was so clean and clear, that it appeared as though he had just performed ghusal (ablution, cleansing of the entire body) and come."
May Allah Guide all people to the Truth. Aameen.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu A good post and a good idea. Your right though, you can always tell when a whabbi turns up at the door. I can usually tell because they have long pointy or crooked noses and they have shifty and very bushy eyebrows. Has anyone else noticed there eyebrows twitch when they speak.

I know this has got nothing to do with Imams but one of the reasons why you dont see many palestinians with beards is because the likeness to the traditional jews who all wear beards. I have been told this by someone who has been to the middle east many times.

Don't Forget To Pack By: Masood
When we go on vacation, we hustle to pack our bags right away. Soon we're going to leave this world and stand before Allah, so don't forget to pack for that day!
The luggage we need does not consist of things like clothes. Who cares about blue jeans and dresses when were standing before Allah in rows.
Nor will we need to bring along travelers checks and cash. If you're planning on bringing that to your grave, you're quite a bit rash.
We build huge mansions, yet what are they going to do for us when we die? We can't pack into our graves what we can pack under the sky.
Forget about the dunyah, when we die we're not going to miss it at all. We say we already know this, then why do we still waste time in places like the mall?
So what luggage do we need for our trip, just what should we pack? Make sure you have Tawheed, and plenty of good deeds up in your sack.
It's a journey to Jannah; so don't forget to take recourse to the map. The directions are in the Quran; we should read it again and again to recap.
There's a saying that I'd like to share with you, which most of us have already heard. Yet I'd like to comment on it, because I've seen it misused in a way that's quite absurd.
"Live in this world as if your life would never go away, and live for the Akherah as if you were going to die the next day."
We usually use that as an excuse to hoard the dunyah and load it on our backs. Yet If we were really gonna die tomorrow, we'd forget about the dunyah, and be fully engrossed in righteous acts.
So we should be running towards the Jannah, yet with the dunyah on our backs, how can we even crawl? We got to live in this world like travelers, ready or not, were going to have to leave it without a second to stall.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Dear brother suhayb, you have to realise the word kaffir is an arabic word and is mentioned many times in the Quran sharif, so please try to understand its meaning deeper. Remember an ordinary kaffir is not as worthy as a practising kaffir and so on .. Your defintion of holiday is probably permissable in my opinion but not something which is practised by the majority of muslims. Is it possible to do a Poll to see a new Poll to see how many here like holidays, honeymoons etc

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Just so their is no confusion, as this can be confusing as we have covered this a few times. We have to remember the key point here is pride and arrogance, basically the intention of the person who folds their trouser or garment bottoms. But who wears their clothes touching the floor through arrogance ?

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Everything oppsosite to Bush and Saddam. Besides the obvious answer as pointed out by Sunni sevens. A just Muslim leader would have to be a naik sunni person. Anyway if you wanted a list all of these qualities should be standard for all Muslim country leaders. A pious muslim, A good listener, A good planner, Promotes effective dawah Discourages wahhabis, shias and qadianyis Generous and warm hearted to the miskeen Has a vision. etc, etc. Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu I think you have covered it everything there Shamshuddin, A TRUE PIOUS MUSLIM should automatically have all of those qualities already. But if you were to ask me to add another i would say tolerance is important.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu What is everyones opinions on this hadith from Muslim. Whoever eats or drinks from gold or silver utensils, is indeed filling his stomach with the fire of hell. (Muslim). What about the pots and pans we cook from, theyre mostly all silver, and occasionally we use silver knives, forks and spoons when not having rotis ? thats a scary thought!! i never thought about things like that, am pretty sure are cutlery sets are just silver plated...! why would anyone want to eat with knifes and forks its sunnat to eat with your hands !

The essence of good characters are the four main virtues. Similarly, the essence of vices are four main vices.
1. Scandal (Razalat): the opposite of wisdom.
2. Cowardice (Jubn): the opposite of courage (Shajaat).
3. Debauchery (Fujur): to follow the desires of the soul (Nafs) and to commit sin. It is the opposite of chastity (Iffat).
4. Tyranny (Jawr, Zulm): the opposite of justice.
There are numerous vices corresponding conversely to every virtue. The goodness is defined as the middle way, average or regular-way. To be on the right or left of the middle means to be on the wrong side, wrong grounds or departing from the goodness. Further away from the middle-way means being further away from goodness.
There is only one correct path but there are many deviated paths. We could even state that there are infinite deviated paths. Never departing from the right path after finding it and staying on that path permanently is very difficult task. The meaning of the 112th verse of the Chapter of Hood of Qur'an is as follows, "Stay on that correct path which you are commanded!" When this verse was received by Rasulullah, peace be upon him, he said, "Chapter of Hood caused some of my beards to become white." The commandment given in the Hood-Chapter of the Qur'an, "Staying in the correct path" made many close friends (Walis), sincere ones (Siddiqs), even Prophets worry over and bewilder.
This fear made some of the beards of Rasulullah, peace be upon him, to turn white because, it is very difficult to stay in the correct path. Also, for this reason it was said: "Sirat-Bridge is thinner than a hair and sharper than the sword." In the opening chapter, i.e., "Fatiha" of the Qur'an, Allahu ta'ala says, "Ask Allah to guide you to the correct path." It is most necessary for a believer (Mumin) to be on the correct path. Passing from the Sirat-Bridge" in the hereafter depends on being on the correct path in the world.

The beloved Prophet Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam said: 'When a believer commits a sin, a Black spot is dotted on his heart. If he leaves that deed and repents, his heart is cleansed of that dot. If he continues such acts, his covering is increased over his heart until it covers it entirely'.
This is the Ran [or "rust"] that is mentioned here: {NAY! BUT on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn .} [83 -e 14.]
The Prophet Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam also said: 'Have fear of Allah and obey Him wherever you are. Follow up an evil deed with good deed that wipes it away. And people with good behavior'. [Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and Al-Hakim]
